Yellow Pages Teams Up With Foursquare to Share Data

Yellow Pages Group logoYellow Pages Group has just announced a deal with Foursquare to share data between the two services. This is part of Foursquare’s “venue harmonization project”, which is an effort to improve the accuracy of business locations in the Foursquare database.

As part of the deal, Yellow Pages will make the information they have on 1.5 million Canadian businesses available to Foursquare through their YellowAPI. The deal will also allow the hundreds of developers using YellowAPI to integrate Foursquare functionality into their applications.

YPG is the first Canadian business to participate in Foursquare’s project. YPG is one of the few big companies in Canada focused on earlier stage innovation. Last month they announced a new Developer Program that provides funding, mentorship and access to YPG services to location-focused startups and projects.
