Blame Stella provides an open source web performance and monitoring tool called Stella. We spoke with the founder, Delano Mendelbaum, back in March 2011. Today, the company is announcing a partnership with another Montreal-based company, WonderProxy.

WonderProxyWonderProxy provides HTTP proxies around the world to help you test GeoIP web applications. They have a network of servers in over 40 locations around the world. Stella is now integrated with the WonderProxy service. When Stella detects a possible incident on a website (slow performance as an example), it can use WonderProxy to verify the incident by running tests from many different locations.

Delano expects that through the use of WonderProxy, he’ll be able to reduce the number of false positives from Stella (notifying customers of a problem when there isn’t one!), in turn providing a more accurate and useful service. WonderProxy benefits by demonstrating another interesting use case for their service (which isn’t necessarily core to their business.)
