In February, Tara Hunt put out the call to help her and her team rebrand Shwowp. And last week that rebranding was complete with the renaming and public launch of Buyosphere. Alexia Tsotsis broke the news on TechCrunch.

Buyosphere

It turns out Buyosphere wasn’t in the original survey that Tara sent out to solicit votes on new name ideas. The name came from Alexandra Watkins at Eatmywords, who had previously panned the old name.

The site definitely has a fresher, lighter feel, which I expect is more inline with their target audience. I’m also intrigued by the color choices; you don’t see a lot of sites using light green, but it’s a nice change from an overwhelming amount of blue on the Web. And the logo also spins…

We wish the Buyosphere team the best of luck!

    Thanks for the article Ben!
For surw, one of the things we didn’t want was to be Blue.0! ;-)

P.S. The logo spins if you have a HTML 5 compliant browser.
