Playerize Closes Seed Financing during FounderFuel from Rho Ventures
Playerize was by far the furthest along of all the FounderFuel startups. They entered the program with a product and traction, and leave after three months with near-hockey stick like growth. That wasn’t ignored by investors. Rho Ventures, led by Jeff Grammer and Roger Chabra, jumped in to fund Playerize’s seed round. Real Ventures participated as well.
The size of the round wasn’t disclosed, but Jeff Grammer made the announcement on stage in front of the audience.
Playerize was the only startup to close a round during FounderFuel, but others have commitments from investors already and should be closing rounds in the near future.
Playerize helps social and mobile game companies with their #1 challenge: user acquisition. They acquire users through a variety of methods (Facebook ads, display ads, blogs, etc.) and through key partners. Over time, Playerize wants to help game companies with all of the key issues they have around acquisition, retention and engagement, providing a comprehensive platform for helping game companies make money. The company was founded by Jeff Magnusson and Lyal Avery. With the completion of FounderFuel, they’ll be returning to Vancouver.
