Axeeda Launches to Manage Your Property
Axeeda recently launched its site to help people manage their property, including homes, cars, trucks, boats, etc. The site provides record keeping on your various property and reminds you when regular maintenance is required. The system connects members with over 198,000 Canadian service providers and contractors, so that members can track the service providers they use (and find new ones.) If service providers sign up and join Axeeda they can then book appointments and provide confirmations online. Service providers also benefit by seeing projects posted by members. Service providers can then communicate with members and work to get their business.
Email reminders about upcoming service requirements include coupons to reduce maintenance costs. The site also supports the ability to list your property online for sale, including the service history. Fred Langevin, CEO and Founder believes that the tracking and publishing of a property’s service history will add significant value to the sales process:
“When the asset is sold, they could potentially secure a higher price due to the visibility of the maintenance documents, as well as the ability to transfer historical as well as future maintenance items to the new owner. Imagine shopping for your next used vehicle being able to see all the maintenance documentation online. Then, once you purchase the vehicle, the complete history gets transferred to you for continuation so that when you decide to sell, you have the complete info available.”
Axeeda is aiming to manage the complete lifecycle of your property from the time you purchase it to the time you sell it.
Axeeda is now in Beta, which means all its services are free of charge. Eventually, Axeeda plans to make money by charging a listing fee when members post property for sale, and they’ll charge service providers that want to list promotions through the system.
Fred Langevin told us that he decided to build the application when he owned a cottage near Tremblant. New to the area he struggled with finding the right service providers when he needed them. At the same time he was in a car accident and got frustrated with having to track down and constantly repeat the same information over and over again to various service providers involved. The original idea for Axeeda came in 2000 but after a few challenges, Fred put the project on hold until 2008 when he re-committed to getting it launched. Axeeda is privately funded.
Axeeda is now focused on acquiring members and getting the product in the hands of consumers. In the future, they’res looking at expanding into the insurance and real estate industries, and providing additional customer relationship management functionality to service providers.
