The funding is to support an innovative R&D project at Averna. The announcement was made by Senator Judith Seidman:
“Our government is investing in science and technology to create good jobs, strengthen the economy and improve Canadians’ quality of life,” said Senator Seidman. “This government is supporting Canadian firms that successfully develop innovative technologies. Canada’s Economic Action Plan is supporting scientific research and commercialization, while creating good jobs and economic growth.”
Canada’s Economic Action Plan provided $200 million to the NRC’s Industrial Research Assistance Program over two years.
The $1,000,000 investment will enable Averna to hire 12 specialists in R&D. Averna expects sales of its radio frequency test systems to increase 25% over the next year as a result of the investment.
