Subscriptions and E-commerce Business Manager at AskMen

AskMen, a division of IGN Entertainment and the largest men’s lifestyle site in the world, is looking for a Subscriptions and E-commerce Business Manager.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Business Development, the Subscriptions and E-commerce Business Manager will lead the business operations of AskMen’s city newsletter product, as well as the expansion of AskMen’s e-commerce revenue (online product sales). This opportunity affords the right candidate a rare opportunity to work for a Montreal-based international media site on projects of critical importance to its future growth.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the success of AskMen’s newsletter product, including:

  • Management of the soon to be launched “Acquire” deals channel and all other e-commerce opportunities that help drive non-ad revenue (products, books)
  • Management of the business operations for all of AskMen’s email newsletters
  • The creation of dashboards and success metrics for e-commerce and newsletter initiatives
  • Working closely with the newsletter editor to ensure the proper voice and content mix in each city newsletter
  • Working on partnerships that help drive subscriptions
  • Working with the sales team on collateral and sales strategies
  • Working with product team/marketing on re-engagement tactics and optimization of registration flow
  • Periodically, the Subscriptions and E-commerce Business Manager will be assigned other partnership projects focused on building site traffic and the AskMen brand
  • Building up non-newsletter e-commerce offering on the site and maximizing revenue streams from product sales (books, grooming products, etc)
  • Periodically, the Subscriptions and E-commerce Business Manager will be assigned other partnership projects focused on building site traffic and the AskMen brand

Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in email marketing, consumer e-commerce or online marketing
  • Strong business acumen
  • Metrics driven, with an understanding of Online analytics tools, like Google Analytics and Omniture
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
  • A strong editorial sensibility (great writing skills don’t hurt)
  • Not afraid of a Telephone
  • An interest in Men’s Lifestyle publications helps
